What is First Holy Communion?
What is Through the Eucharist, we are nourished, strengthened, and drawn ever closer to Jesus. From the day of Baptism, your child became part of God’s family. Now, through First Communion, they are welcomed to the Lord’s Table in a deeper and more personal way. This step is a source of joy not only for your child, but for your entire family and our parish community.
First Communion is one of the Sacraments of Initiation, together with Baptism and Confirmation. These sacraments form the foundation of a lifelong relationship with God and the Church. Each one helps your child grow in grace, faith, and their identity as a beloved Catholic Christian.
We are honored to accompany your family during this meaningful time and look forward to helping prepare your child to receive Jesus in the Eucharist with reverence, understanding, and joy.
What age can my child receive First Communion?
Children must be at least 7 years old to begin preparation for First Communion. The Sacrament of First Holy Eucharist (Communion) requires two years of faith formation beginning in first grade.
