Special attention is given to developing age and skill appropriate teaching practices through differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students. All students receive instruction in the core courses of religion, math, English, literature, science and social studies as prescribed by the TCCEB-ED Bell to Bell schedule. Students will also receive instruction in the specialty subjects of music, physical education, computer science, and Spanish. NWEA Map Growth:
NWEA Map Growth test is administered to students in grades K – 8th. Map Growth measures what students know and what they are ready to learn next. By dynamically adjusting to each student's performance, MAP Growth creates a personalized assessment experience that accuarely measures performance - whether a student performs on, above, or below grade level. Timely, easy - to -use reports help teachers teach, students learn, and administratiors lead. is In addition, Archdiocesan Policy dictates that students in 2nd and 6th grade are required to also take the Cognative Abilities Test (CogAT), which assesses students’ learned reasoning abilities in the three areas: Verbal, Nonverbal and Quantitative.
Fully Accredited through TCCB-ED
St. Monica Catholic School maintains the accreditation standards of the Texas Education Agency, (TEA) through the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCB-ED) for grades PreK3 - 8.
The school is a member of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA).
Re-accreditation occurs every seven years and will occur again in 2028.
We are proudly rooted in the Roman Catholic Tradition and follow our Patroness, St. Monica, who is our model of perseverance in prayer. Our Dragons live their faith not only in Religion class, but in all aspects of our day and in how we treat each other. Our school is open to all faith traditions!

A current Physical Form filled out and signed by their doctor is due at the beginning of each shool year, prior to them being able to start practicing.

Saint Monica is a member of the Archdiocesan Interscholastic Athletic League. The primary goal of the sports program in the AIAL is to represent Christ by exhibiting good sportsmanship through participation in and learning the basic fundamentals of our sports program, always keeping in mind that winning and losing are both part of the athletic experience. AIAL is open to 5th-8th grade students. Saint Monica has active teams in the following sports:

St. Monica's Catholic Youth Organization
Multiple sports teams are available to PreK and Elementary students through the Catholic Youth Organization. This is open to all students in the community and is managed through Saint Monica Parish. More information can be found when you visit here.

Saint Monica Catholic School offers many after-school activities for students to participate in. All activities begin after the 1st quarter to insure students meet academic requirements first.

We believe in supporting our families with after school commitments and having fun with our students outside of classroom instruction. Our teachers and administrators sponsor a weekly club for PK to 8th Grade.

The St. Monica extended day program was created to provide valuable assistance to the working families of St. Monica Catholic School.
Children are engaged in developmentally appropriate activites including a structured balance of play, creative activities, and completion of the homework that was assigned by their homeroom teachers.
The afterschool care program is open to St. Monica Catholic School students only. Families can participate regularly in the program or choose to use the program as needed for a minimal, pro-rated fee. The program is also open on early release days. Food/snacks are to be provided by families for their students.
Before School Care:
7 AM-7:45 AM- there is no cost for before school care.
After School Care:
3 PM- 5:30 PM
Cost:
- $250/month for 1st child
- $200/month for 2nd child
- $15/hour for drop-in care.
- Families incur $5 per min fee when picked up after 5:30 PM.

Summer Program
St. Monica offers a summer day program (7AM-5:30 PM) for 8 weeks following the end of the school year (June & July).

Field trips throughout Bexar County: Sea World, LegoLand, Civic Services, Weekly Swimming!
Just because Mom, Dad and the family have to work, doesn't mean we can't learn and have fun in the city all Summer long!!!

Summer Sports Camp: Open to rising 5th to 8th graders. $50 for first camp, $75 flat fee if enrolled in multiple. Each camp will be one week in July from 9 AM to 12PM, Monday to Friday.
